Who’s is going to be promoting this Christmas?

It’s hopefully not the only thing you have on your Christmas list but if knowing which of your competitors are promoting is something you want to find out over the Christmas period then Brand View has just the thing.

Using Brand View Promotional History you can set your date range to run a report for a period in the future (for instance, the Christmas holidays) to show you which manufacturers are running promotions today that are set to continue into the new year. Using this report in this way will also give you a detailed breakdown of the type of promotion and depth of cut your competitors are employing, allowing you to determine when and how to most effectively counter-promote your own product.

In addition to running the report, you can set up a Brand View Scheduled Export to deliver a daily or weekly report to update you on any new promotions that are introduced throughout the holidays. So even when you turn your attention to enjoying the other aspects of the Christmas holidays, you won’t miss a thing happening in your category.

Brand View Insights provides regular, industry-leading analysis on the impact of key market changes to price and promotion trends for your category, your customers and your competitors. This week we’ve assessed the effect of new licensing laws, coupled with a tough economic climate, on the Beers Wines and Spirits market.

In the run up to Christmas, promotional activity in stores will increase across all alcohol categories, although the mechanic used is likely to vary considerably between manufacturers. Of the products within Beers, Wines and Spirits on promotion currently (as of 2nd Dec) 581 will still be on promotion during Christmas (w/c 19 Dec) in the Big Four and Waitrose.

Brand View are moving!

Brand View are moving home on 12th December and we’re pleased to say it will certainly be an upgrade. Our new offices will be situated one floor below our current location and come complete with spacious meeting rooms, a board room and perhaps the best perk of them all, the return of ‘the Lounge’ – the one area of the office dedicated to chill out and playtime – let the pool league begin!

With a speed that only Brand View’s instant online analytics can match, we’ve had a hard-working duo of urban artists helping with the new office design, which will certainly give us more than 4 plain walls to look at.

And with, of course, a little help from the Manager Director:

So, if you’re visiting us after 12th December you now have one set of stairs less to climb, but you can still find us at the usual address. For our full office details go to the Brand View Website.

Brand View says “Bonjour” to Carrefour and Auchan Drive

With Brand View’s Managing Director, Bruce Dove, representing Brand View at the IFM Conference in Paris last week, the Brand View website has also taken to France. Brand View is now collecting French retailer data on a daily basis from Carrefour and Auchan Drive.

Both mark significant additions to Brand View’s overseas retailer coverage; Carrefour is the world’s second-largest retailer and the largest in Europe – operating in 32 countries with over 9,500 stores, whilst Auchan Drive pioneered the ”hypermarchés drive” retailer format in France, which are now springing up throughout the country.

This takes Brand View’s online retailer coverage to 77 in stores in total, and it’s not about to stop there. Watch this space for more overseas retailer additions to the service in the coming weeks.

Take a look on the Brand View website for the full list of retailers that Brand View track prices and promotions for daily.
